Rasaan is the B side to the very popular song by Nora Dean "Peace Begins Within". In a recent column, the British journalist Chris Lane compliments the work of Sid Bucknor in this song. See an excerpt below. This beautiful gem is in Sid's multi-track collection and the instrumental will soon be used for a new vocal rendition of "Peace begins within". This EP will be available in small quantities only.

It’s ironic that “Peace Begins Within”, a radio friendly, straight ahead reggae cover of a soul tune, was probably one of Dean’s least popular recordings at the time of release. It’s a better than competent version of the song, the singer sounds great and the production – courtesy of the famous Dynamic (and ex-Studio 1) engineer Sid Bucknor – is excellent. The rhythm, with the popular ‘creep’ organ shuffle, is solid as a rock, and includes some great work from the horn section.

Sid Bucknor chose the word Rasaan for this song which seems to have various meaning. We found the Arabic translation to be such a beautiful way to capture this sound.

Rasaan Is an Arabic name for girls which means "Raindrops That Fall Intermittently".
